VP of Business Development
CK Group are recruiting for a VP of Business Development to join a growing biotechnology company at their facilities located in Cambridge on a permanent basis. This will be a hybrid role with at least three to four days onsite with up to 50% travel (UK and Europe).

The Role:
Developing new market opportunities, expanding clients customer base, and ensuring the commercial viability of their technologies in the life sciences sector. The successful candidate will oversee the entire sales and marketing function, including strategy development, market entry, revenue growth, and team leadership. This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial leader to make a significant impact in the life sciences sector and play a key role in our clients growth.
You will additionally be responsible for:
- New Product Launch: leading, planning and strategic focused
- Business Development: Identify relevant market segments within Life Sciences.
- Expand Customer Network: Utilise your extensive customer network to establish relationships with key industry players and secure large-scale partnerships in new and existing markets.
- Identify Attractive Applications: Identify and evaluate promising new applications leveraging both personal expertise and external market insights.
- Leadership: Lead sales, marketing, and business development teams
- Oversee global product launches
- Commercial strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies aimed at achieving revenue growth and profitability. company maximizes profitability.
- Degree qualified in life sciences or equivalent (PhD preferred)
- Desire to work in a dynamic start-up environment
- Extensive senior-level commercial experience in Life Sciences, ideally with a focus on analytical instruments, bioprocessing hardware, or similar.
- Proven track record of successfully launching products, expanding into new markets, and driving substantial revenue growth.
- Extensive network within the biotechnology sector, particularly in Cell Line Development, Process Development, and Upstream Manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience working in international markets and collaborating with cross-functional teams
