CK Group are recruiting for a Surface Analyst, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Skelmersdale, on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary:

£30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience

The Company:

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They are also involved with the decarbonisation of the glassmaking process. Having recently completed a novel hydrogen firing trial, they are incorporating more green electricity into the process, including implementing innovative carbon capture technologies. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Technologist to join them. Location:

The Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Skelmersdale, easily commutable by road from Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Manchester and surrounding areas. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.

Your main duties will involve:

  • Operation of highly sophisticated analytical equipment (namely ToF SIMS), the analysis of glass, thin films and associated materials.
  • Interpretation of results generated, preparation of formal reports and the use of other forms of communication to explain results.
  • Contribution to multidisciplinary project teams and troubleshooting activities.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Chemisty or Materials science degree qualified.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, ideally using surface analysis techniques.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of analytical method development is especially desirable.
