CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Mathematical Modelling Technologist, to join a global materials manufacturing company based near Skelmersdale, on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They are also involved with the decarbonisation of the glassmaking process. Having recently completed a novel hydrogen firing trial, they are incorporating more green electricity into the process, including implementing innovative carbon capture technologies. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technologist to join them. Location:

The position will be based at the company's site near Skelmersdale, easily commutable by road from Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Manchester and surrounding areas. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is recommended due to the company's location.

Your main duties will involve:

  • Aid the Modelling and Simulation R&D Team in their efforts to refine and decarbonise their manufacturing processes.
  • Use mathermatical and computational fluid dynamics modelling to refine and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Evaluate proposed furnace design improvements, provide technical support to operating/manufacturing sites.
  • Aid in updating and improving simulations tools/CFD packages.
  • Contribution to multidisciplinary project teams and troubleshooting activities.
Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Physics, Applied Maths or Engineering degree qualified (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and experience working on fluid flow calculations.
  • Experienced in applying mathematical modelling to industrial processes.
  • Experienced in writing and updating computer programs.
