Plant Engineer Black Utilities, Baden-Württemberg, Fulltime

The company is privately owned Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) provides comprehensive GMP development and manufacturing services for New Biological Entities (NBEs) and Biosimilars, as well as Cell & Gene Therapy, associated services worldwide. Our portfolio includes the development of cell lines, production processes, as well as non-GMP and GMP manufacturing of biopharmaceutical drug substances and drug products.

To support our Engineering team at our site in Germany in south of Frankfurt we are looking for a Plant Engineer Black Utilities (f/m/d).

Your area of responsibility:

  • As Plant Engineer Black Utilities you take ownership of assets within your area of responsibility ensuring a continuous improvement of the Overall Equipment/System Efficiency (OEE) and compliance.
  • Collaboration is at the core. You work in cross-functional teams and with external partners to ensure assets are available when needed and assist in shutdown planning.
  • You lead root cause investigations and ensure that deviations and CAPAs are addressed, implemented and closed in due cause.
  • You represent your area of responsibility in inspections, audits and customer meetings.
  • You'll be responsible for delivering Capital Expenditure (Capex) safely, on budget and time and to quality.
  • Your leadership extends to managing project teams during root cause investigations, Capex projects, and maintenance activities, ensuring effective teamwork and successful outcomes.

Your skills & qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent; a master's degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within the pharmaceutical/CDMO industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Robust understanding of pharmaceutical operations and biotechnology, with Single Use Technology experience considered an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge, both in infrastructure and processes, crucial for successful engineering project execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations, including EMA and FDA.
  • Extensive experience in contract management, ensuring favorable project outcomes.

  • High proficiency in spoken and written English at a business level; German is a plus.
