Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

CK Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a chemical company within the waste management industry. This vacancy is based in their site in Sunderland and is a full time, permanent role offering a salary upto £55,000 per annum.

Location:

This role is located in Sunderland. The site is easily commutable from the surrounding areas via good road links.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that all assigned duties and tasks are carried out in compliance with statutory legal requirements and the company quality, health & safety and environmental policies.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures ensuring that all necessary documentation for routine checks and calibrations are performed whilst maintaining the required standards.
• Assist Maintenance team to ensure the safe, standardised and efficient maintenance of all plant and equipment as per planned routines and statutory requirements, including the completion of all documentation to satisfy these requirements.
• Working with Engineering Manager to plan shutdown work and intrusive safety critical jobs with associated test bodies and departments ensuring that all equipment is up to date and defects are suitably managed.
• Ensure that all project plans, improvements, repairs and shutdown works are performed to the appropriate standard, ensuring coordination of resources for the flawless execution of works to agreed timescales including appropriate hand over after completion.
• Contribute as required to raise capital asset requests including design input, the provision of technical and process data, specification requirements, procurement, contractor quotations, formal contract agreements, delivery, commissioning and assessing resource requirements.
• Review, assess and plan as required capex projects for new plant and or equipment coming to site, working closely with supplier to supply appropriate information, timelines and documentation.
• Create clear and concise plans to execute and monitor progress of routine tasks, equipment repairs and project work to keep site management team up to date.
• Encourage good communications and reporting from engineering teams providing timely feedback on tasks, any remaining faults, breakdowns, isolations in place and any accidents, incidents or near misses that have occurred.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Processing plant knowledge with 2 years management or supervisory experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Multidiscipline diverse background with experience working on either COMHA or PSSR site.
• Project Management experience including CDM regulations.
