Industrial Chemist

CK Group are recruiting for a Industrial Chemist to lead the development of a process for the synthesis of organic acids for our client based in Cornwall. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and implementing a scalable and efficient production method.

The Role:

• Investigate and analyse existing literature on synthesis and related catalytic processes.
• Design and execute experiments to develop a process for the synthesis.
• Evaluate and select suitable catalysts
• Optimize catalyst performance through systematic screening and modification.
• Design and implement reaction engineering strategies to enhance the efficiency and selectivity of the synthesis process.
• Work towards scaling up theprocess from laboratory to pilot and potentially to industrial scale.
• Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.

Your Background:

• Degree in Chemistry or related field with a focus on catalysis or chemical synthesis.
• Proven experience in industrial chemistry, process development, (and catalytic reactions).
• Strong knowledge of sulfonation reactions and relevant literature.
• Familiarity with catalyst screening and optimization techniques.
