Director/Head of, Preclinical Research and Discovery
Jim Gleeson at the CK Group is working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company who are developing neurological medicines. They are looking for a Director of Preclinical R&D, an experienced preclinical pharmacologist, to lead R&D strategy for their lead product and pipeline programs.
This role will be a permanent position requiring you to be office based in London once a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Director of Preclinical R&D you oversee preclinical R&D activities on a strategic and operational basis.
- Leadership of the R&D team and oversight of the budget
- Oversight of the generation of new pharmacological data to support neurological product development
- Management of a variety of third-party research partners
- Review and oversight of preclinical regulatory submissions to multiple regulatory authorities
- Close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer to provide preclinical pharmacology expertise for the design of clinical trial protocols
As Director of Preclinical R&D you will require:
- BSc or PhD in Pharmacology or a related subject
- Strong industry-based experience of heading up preclinical research
- An excellent knowledge of CNS disease mechanisms and preclinical models
- Experience of scientific contribution to regulatory documents
- Strong project and financial management skills
Salary of up to £120K and benefits package
