Jim Gleeson at the CK Group is working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company who are developing neurological medicines. They are looking for a Director of Preclinical R&D, an experienced preclinical pharmacologist, to lead R&D strategy for their lead product and pipeline programs.

This role will be a permanent position requiring you to be office based in London once a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Director of Preclinical R&D you oversee preclinical R&D activities on a strategic and operational basis.

  • Leadership of the R&D team and oversight of the budget
  • Oversight of the generation of new pharmacological data to support neurological product development
  • Management of a variety of third-party research partners
  • Review and oversight of preclinical regulatory submissions to multiple regulatory authorities
  • Close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer to provide preclinical pharmacology expertise for the design of clinical trial protocols
QUALIFICATIONS:

As Director of Preclinical R&D you will require:

  • BSc or PhD in Pharmacology or a related subject
  • Strong industry-based experience of heading up preclinical research
  • An excellent knowledge of CNS disease mechanisms and preclinical models
  • Experience of scientific contribution to regulatory documents
  • Strong project and financial management skills
