Senior Scientist - Complex In Vitro Immunology
CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Scientist - Complex In Vitro Immunology to join a new lab in London embedded in one of Europe's leading life sciences venture ecosystems. This lab supports early-stage biotech companies developing and running complex in vitro assays that help guide real-world drug discovery.
The role will be based in Kings Cross, London and is a permanent role with Mon-Fri day time working hours.
The Role
- You’ll report to the Lab Head and play a central role in getting the lab operational. This is a hands-on position, but with a clear path to grow into a leadership role. Project management responsibilities will be a key part of this role and contribution to shaping new scientific directions that the company takes.
- The role is ideal for candidates with strong technical expertise in immunology or cell biology, ideally with significant research experience in an industry setting. You should be confident working with primary human immune cells and familiar with techniques such as flow cytometry or high-content imaging.

- Develop complex cell assays to help understand drug mechanism of action
- Provide training and scientific support to junior lab members
- Project management
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping for delivery of data and reports to clients
- Establish medium/high throughput screening of novel drugs
- Excellent communication of data to external stakeholders
Essential:
- Extensive knowledge of drug discovery and development process
- Significant post-graduate experience in an industrial or translational lab setting (pharma or biotech).
- Previous experience in human cell culture most preferably with human primary immune cells
- Direct practical knowledge of flow cytometry and/or microscopy/cell-imaging
- High throughput screening cell assay screening
- Some experience in biophysics-based screening techniques for example affinity measurements using BLI/SPR
