CK Group are recruiting for a Scientist on behalf of a growing biotech company, to utilise their scientific expertise to support the delivery of the companies R&D objectives. This role will be based at their site in Canary Wharf, on a permanent basis. 

 

The Role

The Scientist is responsible for independently designing, executing and analysing in vitro experiments resulting in the delivery of high-quality work packages and will demonstrate scientific rigor and critique of their work. This includes performing established SOPs, as well as assay development and optimisation to support the screening of novel biologics i.e. monospecific and multi-specific antibodies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced team that is dedicated to delivering next generation immune cell engagers to patients. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform, analyse and interpret experiments to deliver work packages to meet agreed objectives.
  • Support assay development and data package delivery for both immunology and translational focused assays.
  • Actively contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory e.g. by performing cell culture, banking cell lines and isolation of primary immune cells from whole blood.
  • Support the development of complex co-culture assays to explore functional and phenotypic responses of novel therapeutic antibodies.
  • Support complex scientific research of R&D team by generating data and presenting to the wider team on a regular basis.
  • Proactively seeking to support delivery from the whole R&D team.
 

Your Background:

  • PhD in relevant biological discipline or MSc (eg Immunology or Cell Biology) with at least three years of relevant laboratory-based experience.
  • Experience working in a company setting (Biotech or Pharma) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in immunology research across a range of immune cell subtypes.
  • Expertise in innate immunology specifically gamma delta T cell biology would be advantageous.
  • Experience in immunology research across a range of cell types including isolating, culturing and performing functional assays with primary human immune cells.
  • Experience designing flow panels, performing compensation and running multi-colour flow cytometry assays.
  • Experience performing high throughput (at least 96-well microtiter plates) cell based functional/ imaging-based assay.
