CK Group are working in partnership with Nxera Pharma UK Limited (formerly Sosei Heptares) to recruit an R&D Project Manager based in Granta Park, Cambridge.

Company: Nxera Pharma is a technology powered biopharma company, in pursuit of new specialty medicines to improve the lives of patients with unmet needs in Japan and globally, focused on therapeutic areas in inflammation diseases, neurology and immunology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a pivotal project team member post in a highly collaborative environment. The successful applicant will assume the role as lead Project Manager across projects from the internal and partnered portfolio.  They will also play an active role as a member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, using their knowledge and experience to contribute to growing the function and influencing project management strategy.

  • Lead project management activities for high profile portfolio projects as an integral part of the project leadership team
  • Oversight of large project budgets requiring accurate forecasting of project spend and cost management through exceptional financial acumen and alignment with functional leads and finance
  • Risk Management is at the core of our project management principles, risk identification, appraisal and management will be core to the role
  • Managing transparent project communication in a fast paced, highly complex environment with diverse stakeholders
  • Working closely with key stakeholders across other disciplines in Nxera Pharma to drive business transformation initiatives
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

As R&D Project Manager you will require:

  • Science related degree and either MSc or PhD (preferable) 
  • Proven experience as lead Project Manager for pharmaceutical R&D projects
  • Professional project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) 
  • Competent user of Project Management software (Smartsheet, MS Project, etc) and excellent general IT skills (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint etc.) 
  • Proficient stakeholder management - building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries and the ability to influence individuals without having direct authority over them 
  • Ability to multitask and work independently to demanding and changing schedules and priorities

R&D Project Manager

  1. We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced R&D Project Manager to join the Enterprise Portfolio Management team at Nxera Pharma (formerly Sosei Heptares).
  2. This is an exciting role supporting R&D projects in a fast-paced Biopharma environment, contributing to the management of the company’s extensive portfolio of discovery projects and translational medicine programmes. Working closely with Project teams, you will support portfolio advancement in line with the company’s core business objectives and strategy.  
  3. Based on portfolio requirements you will be deployed to partner with a project leadership team and as the Project Management expert, you will be expected to provide professional in-depth knowledge of your discipline.  You will thrive from working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting multiple projects in unison and operating in a matrix/cross-functional environment.   
Roles and Responsibilities:

  7. Managing transparent project communication in a fast paced, highly complex environment with diverse stakeholders is an essential part of the role
  8. Work closely with key stakeholders across other disciplines in Nxera Pharma to drive business transformation initiatives
  9. Drive continuous growth and development of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office through identifying, reviewing and implementing new PM methodologies and practices.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential

  • Greater than 3 years’ experience as the lead Project Manager on complex R&D projects  
  • Professional project management qualification desired (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) 
  • Science related degree and either MSc or PhD (preferable) 
  • Excellent knowledge of the Drug Discovery and Development process with a clear understanding of Discovery deliverables
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and effective presentation style  
  • Excellent general IT skills (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint etc.) 
  • Competent user of Project Management software desirable (Smartsheet, MS Project, etc)
  • Detail orientated individual with clear and uncompromising approach to accurate reporting
  • Proficient stakeholder management - building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries 
  • Ability to influence individuals without having direct authority over them 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask and work independently to demanding and changing schedules and priorities 
  • Highly organised with good time management stills
