Operations Manager
CK Group are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our waste management, environmental, and recycling client-based industry, at their site near Leeds,
permanently.

The company's core business focuses on collection, resource recovery and renewable energy providing services for local authorities and commercial customers. They have a number of core services including municipal services, business waste solutions, recycling and green energy.

This role is located at our client's site near Leeds.
Role Summary:
As Operations Manager, you will oversee the waste treatment and transfer operations on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with our environmental permits and company policies. You will also lead a team including Chemists, Process Technicians, and Operatives, ensuring high standards of compliance, service delivery, and continuous improvement.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.
Your main duties will be:
- Implement and uphold the company's SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) policy.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and are equipped to fulfil them.
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure safe working methods and enforce relevant procedures and regulations.
- Perform environmental aspects and impacts analyses to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with related procedures.
- Provide clear written work instructions outlining potential hazards and required safety precautions.
- Manage waste treatment and transfer operations in line with permits, health & safety, and environmental policies.
Your Background:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Chemistry or a related discipline (preferred).
- Health and Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience in the chemical process or waste treatment industry.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining mobile plant and fixed machinery.
