Laboratory Technician
CK Group are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join a biotechnology company who are based in Cologne, Germany on a permanent basis.

Our client are a global biotechnology company with a global network of labs who are revolutionising Plasmid sequencing.
Location:
The role is based in Cologne and is site based.
They operate on a rotating shift pattern:
- 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- You will be responsible for accurate and efficient execution of RNA library preparation and sequencing.
- Sample Preparation:
Perform and oversee hands-on processing of incoming samples, including accessioning, quality control of starting material, library preparation, and pooling.
- Instrument Operation: Operate, maintain, and ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime of Illumina sequencing instruments. Troubleshoot instrument issues effectively and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
- Results Analysis: Review sequencing output, perform quality control, and conduct basic data analysis; collaborate with bioinformaticians for data interpretation.
- Compliance and Documentation: Follow safety protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
- Educated to degree level or above in Molecular Biology or a related field with hands-on experience in a high-throughput next-generation sequencing (NGS) laboratory environment.
- Ideally a strong focus on Illumina platforms with technical expertise in Illumina sequencing, library preparation automation, and quality control.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to problem-solve.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to stay organized while working on multiple projects at a time.
- Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas to people across lab locations.
