CK Group are recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based near Stevenage on a full time, permanent basis. 

The Company:

Our client is a manufacturer of specialist chemicals including aromas and fragrances. The role will include preparing fine fragrance, personal care and household application samples for customer briefs.

Location:

This Laboratory Assistant is located near Stevenage, commutable from Luton, Harlow and Bedford.

Laboratory Assistant Role:

Your main duties will be to:

  • Maintaining and updating stock of fragrances
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment and good laboratory practices
  • Accurately dispensing fragrance oils in a clean and safe manner to finished products, meeting the deadlines required from the project initiator, salesperson, perfumer or Laboratory Manager.
  • Regular maintenance of the fragrance library in a neat & tidy manner in order that contamination of fragrance oils can be prevented.
  • Transferring finished samples to agreed deadlines to project initiator according to quality guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels of all laboratory consumables, jars, bottles etc.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Graduate or studying toward a relevant qualification in a related science field will be an advantage but not essential.
  • Good communication at all levels 
  • Olfactory capabilities.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a team or as an individual
  • Methodical and precise working practices
  • Keen eye for detail
