CK Group are recruiting for a Development Test Scientist on behalf of a leading technology company and manufacturer of detection equipment.

About the Company:

Our client designs, develops and manufactures equipment including radiation detectors, biological threat detectors as well as instruments to help enhance the quality of imaging for the medical and industrial sectors.

Location:

You will be based at the company’s state of the art facilities in County Durham, with excellentlinks to nearby major roads.

Job Summary:

As a Development Test Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of the existing product portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct R&D experiments, analyse data that aids the development of new and enhanced products.

About the role:

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure successful product development and commercialisation. Other responsibilities include:

  • To understand and use knowledge of market needs, trends and customer preferences to develop new product concepts and enhancements.
  • Design and execute experiments to optimise product formulations,manufacturing processes, and packaging.
  • Utilise statistical analysis to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Perform thorough product testing and evaluation to assess performance, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and observations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable experience/qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, or Master's, degree in Biochemistry, BioMedicine, BioEngineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product development, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, preparations, equipment, and data analysis software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong time management skills, with theability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
