CK Group’s Financial Controller, Lucia Dobiasova, has recently donated 31cm/12 inches of her hair to help the Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust charity aims to provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Lucia, who has worked for CK for 4 years, decided last year that she wanted to support this incredibly worthwhile charity and has been diligently caring for her hair to ensure it meets the necessary quality criteria for donation to help a child. When her hair finally reached the required length recently, Lucia had it cut in the hope of not only donating her hair, but also raising additional funds to further support the charity.
The Little Princess Trust was launched in 2006 in memory of the original founders’ daughter, who died following a battle with Wilms tumour. Since its inception the charity has successfully provided beautiful, real hair wigs to thousands of boys and girls. It has recently extended its mission to include the provision of financial assistance for research into the causes of childhood cancers, and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.
