Laboratory Technician

CK Group are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join an environmental testing company at their site based in Consett, on an initial 1 month contract basis.

The Company:

The company offers a broad range of accredited analytical testing to support a wide range of testing requirements for a range of industries, including water treatment, medical device manufacturers, industrial water companies, environmental consultants and more. 

Location:

The role is based on site in Consett.

Role:

• Preparation and extraction of analytical samples and reagents including basic analytical techniques in accordance with laboratory test procedures.
• Performing basic laboratory testing where appropriate.
• Data entry into LIMS.
• Calibration, equipment and balance checks
• Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

• A scientific education ideally focusing on Chemistry or a related field.
• Industry laboratory experience and an understanding of laboratory processes and housekeeping.
• Analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
