CK Science are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic associate scientist with experience in protein production and purification. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for producing, purifying and characterizing both antibodies and otherprotein reagents to support our therapeutic programs. As an integral member of the protein science team, this individual will also work closely with biology and protein engineering teams to help further advance our discovery efforts and develop our platform technologies.

Full time, permanent position based in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Expression and purification of antibodies and other proteins for use in biology and biochemical/biophysical studies
  • Robustly characterize and QC protein and antibody products using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, and other techniques
  • Help with management of inventories, working cell stocks and protein production workflow and supplies
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, make presentations to update multi-functional project teams and leadership
  • Contribute to group goals through collaboration, shared expertise, and exchange of ideas

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein chemistry or related discipline with 4-6 years experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
  • Expertise with mammalian protein expression systems (e.g. CHO and HEK) is required
  • Experience with protein purificationsystems (e.g. FPLC/AKTA) and chromatography methods such as affinity/SEC/IEX
  • Experience with characterization of antibodies and proteins using biophysical and biochemical techniques (SDS-PAGE/Western blot, HPLC, Octet, DLS, etc.)
  • Molecular biology skills such as cloning, PCR, Gibson assembly, DNA purification
  • Ability to work independently, design, execute, interpret and troubleshoot experiments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and interpersonal skills
