CK Group are recruiting for a QC Scientist to join a global healthcare provider to hospitals, clinics and homes, based in Nottingham on a contract basis for 12 months.

Salary:

  • 16 per hour

QC Scientist Role:

  • Support the business with onsiteQC analytical testing
  • Conduct and document work to cGMP ensuring that projects are conducted in accordance with company procedures and the agreed timelines.
  • To perform all laboratory work to a high degree of scientific rigour such that it willstand up to external scientific, legal or regulatory scrutiny

Your Background:

  • Hold a BSc in a Scientific subject (Chemistry, Microbiology or Biology preferred) or equivalent working experience
  • Experience within GMP/pharmaceutical laboratories would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, management, suppliers and customers
  • Knowledge of analytical testing methods including HPLC, GC, UV-VIS

  • Define analytical work required to allow accurate project planning and deliver results to plan
  • To manage workload and project documentation to level suitable for external examination
  • To assist in trouble shooting analytical methodology and plant process when required

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified degree (BSc) level or equivalent in a Chemistry related vocation - essential, preferably higher (MSc / PhD)
  • Proven hands on method development experience with HPLC, NMR and GC - essential
  • Expertise in either HPLC, NMR or GC - essential
  • Experience of liaisingdirectly with customers and/ or clients - essential
  • Experienced analyst who is comfortable thinking outside the box
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in the above analytical chemistry techniques, and ideally with MS or ICP
  • Good communication skills, flexibility and teamworking
  • Experience gained within a GxP environment would be advantageous
  • Sufficiently flexible to be able travel on business if required

Essential

  • A relevant postgraduate research degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of carbohydrate material science.
  • Previous experience of independent research.
  • Presentations at conferences and a track record of publications in respected journals or equivalent in the field.

Desirable

  • Research experience in polysaccharide and their industrial applications.
  • Involvementin packaging material research and development.
  • Materials formulation and characterisation expertise.
