CK Group are recruiting for a Postdoctoral Scientist -Materials Characterisation to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Sandwich, Kent on a contract basis for 23 months.

Salary: Hourly PAYE: £18.00 - £22.48 per hour

Postdoctoral Scientist -Materials Characterisation Role:

  • Work with mentors and colleagues to develop 3D chemical imaging approaches and modelling methods for the investigation of pharmaceutical products and drive the project forward to visualise and quantify the microstructure of tablets.
  • Use vibrational spectroscopic imaging approaches to study pharmaceutical products.
  • Independently design experiments to collect 3D hyperspectral imaging data on pharmaceutical tablets and solid dosage forms and conduct multivariate data analysis on the chemical images to contextualise and interpret the results, making decisions to drive the research project forward.
  • Communicate results at internal meetings, in peer-reviewed research articles, and at external conferences

Your Background:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Material Science or related subject.
  • Expert knowledge as a vibrational spectroscopist or demonstrated experience with multivariate/hyperspectral image analysis.
  • Expertise using vibrational spectroscopy and hyperspectral imaging approaches for troubleshooting and problem-solving applications.
  • Experience using multivariate data analysis methods and the ability to interpret the results to direct the research project.
